The Beatles\u2019 unique adventure in sound, songwriting, studio technology and even cover art had an immediate impact when the album, which went on to become the biggest-selling United Kingdom record of all time, was launched on 1 June 1967. The effects of the album clearly were shown with multiple performers and artists reacting differently to hearing it. Within three days of its release, The Jimi Hendrix Experience opened a show at the Saville Theatre in London with a rendition of the title track. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/mus122-16\/files\/2018\/04\/3981948640_186ce74e39.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-110\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/mus122-16\/files\/2018\/04\/3981948640_186ce74e39-300x196.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"536\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/mus122-16\/files\/2018\/04\/3981948640_186ce74e39-300x196.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/mus122-16\/files\/2018\/04\/3981948640_186ce74e39-138x90.jpg 138w, https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/mus122-16\/files\/2018\/04\/3981948640_186ce74e39.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 536px) 100vw, 536px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In December, The Rolling Stones released <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their Satanic Majesties Request<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The album was branded a cynical psychedelic response to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sergeant Pepper\u2019s Lonely Hearts Club Band<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and even Keith Richards admitted: \u201cIt ended up as a bit of flim-flam. It was time for another Stones album, and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sergeant Pepper\u2019s Lonely Hearts Club Band<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was coming out, so we thought basically we were doing a put-on\u201d(Gilmore 2017) Questions everyone was wondering include, how did they do it?
