The main reason I believe blacks are sent to jail the most is because of Police discriminate.\u00a0 The focus of putting blacks behind bars all starts with interactions between police and them.\u00a0 From the very beginning Black and poor people are targeted by the police.\u00a0 Police departments have started campaigns in stopping and frisking people who are walking. Majority of these people where either poor people or people of color. \u00a0Another reason blacks are sent to jail more is because The War on Drugs targets Black people.\u00a0 Drug arrests produce the most bodies within the prison system. More than half of the people being arrested in today\u2019s worlds are being arrested for drugs and half of those are for marijuana.\u00a0 Despite the fact that Black and white both use drugs at the same rates a Black person is more likely to be arrested for possession of marijuana than a white person. This simply because of Police discriminate. It is thought out that marijuana is a black drug but in fact it\u2019s not. This also ties into traffic stops. Police are more likely to pull over blacks more than a white person or Hispanic. Society have came up with this thing called driving while black because officers have been known to pull over a black because he so called look suspicious. The way societies is now once stopped, Black drivers are more likely to be given tickets than white people stopped for the same thing. Also I strongly believe that blacks are more likely to be searched and put in hand cuffs then whites. Police seem to target blacks more than any race. This is the reason blacks seem to be put in jail more than any other races. It\u2019s thought out that blacks are normally in lower class neighborhoods and are the ones committing crimes but it\u2019s not necessary true .<\/p>\n
