Montanism/Women (Selmira, Maggie, Simron)

The Gospel of Philip confirms the Gnostic view that women were able to receive divine knowledge and have the divine spark.  This is translated through the kiss between Mary and Jesus where the kiss symbolizes the transfer of knowledge through the mouth (the teacher speaks to the student with His mouth).  Peter and Andrew were doubtful of Mary for different reasons: Andrew for her message and imagery and Peter for her gender because Jesus did not speak to women.  Mary and Levi represent Gnosticism by saying that women can have the divine spark and Gnostics are always trying to gain more knowledge.
