A Message from Emperor Constantine for (3/31)

Council:

First and foremost, thank you for your unity and unanimity in the last council session. I was happy to see the consensus for everyone. I would love to see such compromise continue in the last couple of sessions. Good work.
I trust that each of you have heeded the words of the Game Master and prepared more thoroughly for the issues tomorrow than in previous sessions. We have a lot of ground to cover. Because of this, and because of the tendency for the group to enjoy debating in abstract terms for a long time, we will change up the method in which we discuss the issues tomorrow.
Things to note:
  • The discussion about he Son is over. Tomorrow we will take a vote on the creed as a whole. You will receive a copy, receive a voting slip, and you will take your vote. No one besides the Game Master, Ossius, and Constantine will know what you vote for. You are under no obligation to divulge to another player what you voted for, nor should you ask others.
  • We will talk about Lapsed Clergy as an extension of the canon agreed upon last time. This will take form in a debate style. You must be prepared to be the representative for your side of the argument (if lapsed clergy should be treated differently or not). There will be a time for brief outline of points — your whole argument should come out here, a time for questions, and time for concluding statements from both sides, and then a vote where the majority rules.
  • For the discussion on Metropolitan Bishops and the Role of Women, the canons will be presented and voted on immediately. There will be the opportunity for those that disagree with the canon to defend their position, but a statement will only be added to the canon when it has the majority vote upon addition. This process will be repetitious and fast moving. Come with your points, your defense, and your proposed additions/deletions ready. If things become more philosophical or abstract rather than a proposed action (change) with a brief but solid defense, you will be cut off and asked to sit down.
  • These discussion will be extremely brief. The longest speech or statement will be 1 min. during the Lapsed Clergy section. You may only speak for 45 seconds during the other two issues. We will be timing this and stopping you if you go beyond our time limits. This will allow for the most ground to be covered. Be prepared. Be concise.
  • We will be starting (I will be walking in) at exactly 12:00 as to not waste a single minute of anyone’s time. Be ready to go at this time.
Thanks for your attention and preparation in advance.
Emperor Constantine
