Top Secret

Gnostics have an interpretation of the Genesis story that flips it on its head. They preserve the actions or the events that Genesis tells, validating the actual story (that the Christians would already believe in), but allow for a new perspective that supports the Gnostic view. Christ becomes the person that told Adam and Eve to eat the fruit of knowledge, but Yabadaoath, since he is bad, was mad at them, kicked them out of the garden, and then distracted them from the knowledge they had, therefore making them procreate and live in the flesh. This new perspective, paired with the earlier creation story (giving them an explanation for what was previously inexplicable), adds credibility.

The resurrection is is only a resurrection of the spirit — to be a resurrection of the body would counter the idea that the body is a bad thing.
