Say snow to Docetism

One group of Docetic Christians believed that Jesus was an illusion of a human, that he was so fully divine that he was not human. Another docetic view of Jesus is that at Jesus’ baptism, the spirit of Christ occupied the body of Jesus and left him at the cross. They also believed that Jesus, therefore did not suffer death or any pain.  The proto-orthodox saw this as a problem because if Jesus didn’t suffer and die, then what was the point of him coming. The Gospel of Peter was one of the main text that the Docetic Christian used. They saw it as being in line with their beliefs because it mentions Jesus feeling no pain and that the power was leaving him on the cross as he died. The Gospel of Peter can also be seen as not in line with docetic beliefs. This is a very anti-Jewish gospel that Serapion eventually claimed to be heresy.
