One view of Docetism is that Jesus was Christ and fully divine so that his human form was an illusion. The other views Jesus as man “possessed” by the divine Christ. The Gospel of Peter shows extreme anti-Jewish views and was a main text used by the Docetists. One point of evidence for Jesus’ divinity is that on the cross he seemed to feel no pain. The gospel of Peter was shown to be a forgery by Serapion as it had parts that contradicted itself so it could not have been written by an apostle.
