The reading for Thursday is a short story by Andrei Platonov. (If your first language is Chinese or other non-English, Platonov is widely translated into world languages and you are encouraged to find and read a copy of the story in whatever language is easiest for you).  You can find the English language pdf in the Box that you now have access to.

For tomorrow: lecture on “The Communist Party”  and “The Science Fictionality of Soviet Culture”  as well as some updates on the Republic project.  I’ll have extra office hours this week, T and R  2 – 5 pm,  and hope that most of you will be able (in your pairs) to drop by and get some tips on your first paper/presentation (aka Soviet Republic project)
