Dark….bright…..dark….bright

image As I am looking out at the lake, which happens to be my favorite spot on campus, I notice how dark the trees next to the lake appear to be at this moment. At this particular spot at 12:50 on a Wednesday afternoon, the sun is kind of being shy today. There’s not a clear blue color in the sky, just a dull white gray color. In this first picture the trees look like a very dark green almost blending in with the color of the water. Now the sun has started to become a little brighter making some of the different leaves on the trees show more of their yellow green like color. The leaves have become more vibrant and unique instead of the one consistent color of dark green from about 5 minutes ago. I see this part of the trail behind these trees and the sun is hitting it with some little bit of light and each time a person rides past on their bikes or passes as they catch up with their friends, the light causes the branches on the trees over the trail to cast a shadow on the different people passing by. Also, the reflection of the leaves are now making a picture in the water where you can still pick out the different colors of the leaves. It looks almost like a painting, kind of reminding me of the Sunday in the Park painting by George Suratte…..spelling? That we were looking at yesterday. It’s interesting too, to watch the movement of the tree’s reflection in the water as the wind blows. It gives me a very peaceful, dream like feeling whereas before with the dark color of the trees gave me a grieving feeling. A little dark, but like something was hanging over my head. I end this post with an even brighter image right as my timer went off:

image Such a difference and so much brighter, along with how I feel. Have a great day!
