In order to promote a society that is accepting and striving towards equality in various forms, an emphasis should be placed changing cultural perspective when rejected from a desired group of people. The mentality that one must partake in various groups to define their identity and self-worth is the foundation upon which our society is built. Therefore, people will confront the penalties of hazing rituals in order to be accepted since the outcome of being labeled as outsiders is a far worse consequence. Throughout this analysis, I will evaluate the fears that are present if society continues to reject the notion that an extreme emphasis on in-groups can be detrimental to society. Then, I will explore possible recommendations to minimalize the negative aspects and promote positive consequences. Ultimately, I will continue to enforce the notion that society needs to change the negative mentality towards being rejected from an in-group to promote a more well-rounded community. While the concept of hazing has been enforced due to the comradery it brings between members, greater consequences have led to long term negative effects. As hazing continues to occur in different forms, many institutions have taken it upon themselves to enforce some form of restrictions to work towards minimizing the negative outcomes. This evaluation serves as a sense of support to those that are attempting to change the mentality, and to instill a sense of caution to those that are not as focused on the bigger picture of the well-being of others.
