Today we talked about the distinction between Hollywood and Montreal, representing adulterated and pure art respectively. In one scene of Jesus of Montreal, the “devil” offers a contract to Daniel about working in Hollywood. However, Daniel refuses and sticks to staying legitimate. We also talked about the distinction between the Jewish and Catholic hospital portrayals. The hospitals portrayed the difference between the effects of capitalism/objectification.
