Horsley (11/3)

According to Horsley, Jesus attained his perspective from contemporary Jewish apocalyptic orientation that God was bringing an end to the political powers that are ruling the society so that individual and social life could be renewed. Before the time of Jesus, the apocalyptic literature’s focus was on the judgement of historical enemies and the restoration of the people in the independence and righteousness under God’s rule.  He believes that Jesus’ preachings belong to the place of Jewish apocalypticism.  God is driving away control from satan and demonic forces.
