The Abracadabra Jesus

Jesus was portrayed as the “better magician” in the early church through saturation of His miracle images. People thought that Jesus’ powers traced back to Moses’ magic and that He was the “super-magician” after the Magi acknowledged the foretelling of the star. While later on magic became less ubiquitous, Christ the magician was less talked about compared to Christ the prophet.
