Matthew or MattJew? The most Jewish Gospel

Matthew, being the most Jewish of the Gospels, presents Jesus and Moses as parallel figures often throughout his gospel. One such parallel is the Sermon on the Mount, in which Jesus delivers the law from the mountain just as Moses had once done. Matthew delivers his gospel to a mixed Jewish-Gentile audience and for this reason he often presents Jesus as a fulfillment or continuation of the Jewish law. Matthew also presents the Jewish leaders as opponents of Jesus and his followers from the very beginning of his gospel all the way through the end of the gospel when he presents the chief priests as bribing the guards to put forth the rumor that Jesus’ followers took his body.
