Historiography II Discussion

Although the Gospels aren’t perfect sources, they are the best sources to contribute to the “historical Jesus.” The authors of Matthew and Luke can be argued to have used Mark’s written account as a source, but the account of John is said to be independent because the stories are unique to the other three. In conclusion, oral tradition leads to bias. Because the Gospels were written many years after Jesus’s death, the exchange of information could lead to many inaccuracies and an undeniable bias.
