Week 3 – Personal Contributions

Up until week three, my contributions had felt scarce. I successfully helped navigate two lacrosse camps over the span of a week and a half. I served as a camp administrator and helped with the organization and everyday operations of the camp. I also assisted with the advertisement of the camp. We advertised more than ever for our prospect and youth camps. The results were astounding! After a successful prospect camp, we put on our biggest youth camo to date. We had over 120 campers, more than ever before. Not only that but we had an unbelievable staff to coach up these campers. I feel that I played a role in the growth of the camp due to my graphic design and advertising skills. Not only did advertise more often than usual, but the content was also better. The camp flyers were cleaner and had just the right amount of information. All in all, the camp was a success.

Week three welcomed me into the life of a college coach like no other. Recruiting is no joke. I learned the hard way just how much information is readily available to college coaches and how difficult it is to sift through this information. I spent most of the week going through rosters from various events across the country, finding information on players the coaching staff was interested in. With so much information I had to take my time and but work diligently so the staff could narrow down their top players for the class of 2023.

I took this information and entered this into the 2023 recruiting board that featured notes on every player. My contributions from this week may seem small but they will pay off down the road. When the dead period kicks in this August and our coaching staff is narrowing down their list of players they wish to contact on September 1st, 2021, they will be able to successfully contact these players and their families because I was able to successfully collect the information necessary to do so.
