Matt Barnes Week 2 – Personal Contributions

One of the main things I have been working on is Sunny’s wiki. We are using Notion for the wiki, and the wiki will be used as a central repository for resources, information, and any other material needed in Sunny’s development. I have been working to both organize the wiki and start shifting the material in. For example, I have already moved the design resources from google drive and organized them on their own page in notion. Most of what I have been doing this week however has been market research. I looked into Calm, Headspace, Noom, Woebot, and Thrive Global Network. Each of these services has components or similarities to Sunny in some capacity. For example, Woebot is an AI Chatbot app, and Sunny will also be an AI chatbot. As a result, I was testing out features on Woebot and looking into user reviews for Calm, Headspace, and Noom.

By looking into these different services, I was able to evaluate potential pitfalls to avoid when developing and implementing some of the same features in Sunny. I hope the feedback and findings I have for the various companies will help Sunny to be a more effective tool and avoid the negative sentiments some of the other companies have received. For example, one of the most common complaints was against non-transparent billing services and a lack of effective customer services.

The other market research I did this week was about blogging platforms. Sunny will use a blog as a library of resources to pull from in it’s discussions with users. According to certain cases, such as mediation, it may pull a post that has “top 3 tips for relaxing” or a relevant video. As a result, I looked into a number of different blogging platform options about what would fit the criteria we needed for the blog.

The process was time intensive, but I believe it will be very helpful. I was able to narrow down the selection to a handful of options. Ideally, the list will make it easier to find the ideal platform for Sunny to use and reduce the amount of time needed to set up the blog.
