Leader/Follower Relationships Post

The company I am working at is a smaller to medium size startup and leadership is very personal and relationship oriented. For instance, as part of my on-boarding process I was able to go to the house of the Chief Development Officer and speak with him and the Executive Vice President of Sales in person even though it is a virtual internship. Once I was officially an intern, I got nice notes from people across the company welcoming me into the Ametros “family” and scheduling meetings just to say hello, introduce themselves and their role with the company, and get to know me. Even the CEO sent me a nice email saying he was glad I was part of the company and we would schedule a meeting at the end of my internship to speak. During the internship, I have been able to reach out to just about anyone in the company and they’ve been happy to schedule a call and help me. In the Microsoft Teams meetings I have been able to sit in on, it definitely appears to be a more casual atmosphere where the management and staff can speak freely and honestly with one another. They also like to joke around with one another and bring that positive, upbeat attitude out of the company to clients. During the “client symposium” event that I sat in on, they hosted a wine and painting session and had a very open talk about the company and industry. The Ametros team was able to bring their upbeat, friendly culture to the meeting between their top clients and ignite a vibrant, collaborative, and informative discussion. Additionally, they send out monthly “pulse” surveys to get people’s input on whether what they’re doing is working or if the culture of the company is good. It is evident that they truly emphasize a positive company culture as critical to being a successful company. In speaking with many of the employees, they all discuss their job history and how they got to be with Ametros and every person has spoke to the culture and how they are so much happier with this company than where they came from. Since Ametros continues to grow and become more profitable, it is apparent that their strategy is working.
