{"id":3702,"date":"2020-06-07T22:27:17","date_gmt":"2020-06-08T02:27:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/?p=3702"},"modified":"2020-06-07T22:29:24","modified_gmt":"2020-06-08T02:29:24","slug":"organizational-culture-at-three-ventures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/2020\/06\/07\/organizational-culture-at-three-ventures\/","title":{"rendered":"Values Driven Culture at Three Ventures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The organizational culture at Three Ventures that I have observed, so far, seems to be very values driven and goal oriented.\u00a0 The Principal has clearly communicated to me the decision making process he goes through when accepting and evaluating new clients.\u00a0 He evaluates clients based on their business models, as well as how well the communication goes between them.\u00a0 While I have been interning here, I have been privy to the lack of communication and initiative from new clients who have reached out for consulting advice.\u00a0 The Principal explained to me how although a new client may be a new monetary asset for the company, he has to consider how compatible it will be working with them.\u00a0 This illustrated to me how the Principal weighs relationships with the clients over monetary assets for the company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week I was on some very important business calls that allowed me to observe the communication between the Principal of Three Ventures and a client.\u00a0 There was an issue with one of the client\u2019s insurance, so one of the phone calls I was on dealt with this.\u00a0 The Principal clearly communicated to the two parties on the phone call what the issue was, and the timeline that things needed to get done by.\u00a0 Both parties were very respectful of the other, even though this was a major issue for one of them.\u00a0 After the call, the Principal debriefed it with me and explained the side conversations that each party was having with him.\u00a0 I was able to understand from observations and hearing first hand how William decides to take initiative and communicate during a difficult situation.\u00a0 Although the phone call was mostly formal, the beginning was informal, and William made sure to manage the emotions and set the tone for the rest of the call.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This insurance situation also allowed me to understand the importance of William\u2019s interactive role with his clients.\u00a0 He was the one who recognized the insurance mistake and brought it to his client\u2019s attention.\u00a0 Although this specific aspect is not in his job description, William takes it upon himself to pay attention to these minor details.\u00a0 He demonstrates how he is attentive to the client through a situation such as this one, where he went above the client\u2019s expectations of him.\u00a0 Mostly, William\u2019s job requires his leadership to be focused on outreach and expansion, but I realized the importance of surpassing a client&#8217;s needs through this situation.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The organizational culture at Three Ventures that I have observed, so far, seems to be very values driven and goal<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3644,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[80307],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3702","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-organizational-category"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3702","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3644"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3702"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3702\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3702"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3702"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/jepsoninternship2020\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3702"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
