As another week of working at Cavi has concluded, I have begun to focus more on how different leadership theories are at play in my everyday work situations.\u00a0 The first few weeks at Cavi I was adjusting and getting comfortable with my new workflow, but now I have more time to analyze and look back on different situations at work and how they may have been the result of different leadership theories.\u00a0 The leadership theory that immediately stood out in my mind when I started working at Cavi was Transformational Leadership Theory, however, the fact that everyone at Cavi is working remotely has a profound impact on the way this theory operates in the everyday operations of the company.<\/p>\n
After learning about the company and getting a chance to talk with the one of the company’s founders Sam Chin , I was immediately struck by his charisma and intelligence.\u00a0 Not only is he very well spoken, but he has an enthusiasm about his work that makes everyone around him more excited about their work as well.\u00a0 While many of our conversations have been over phone call, he is able to to exhibit his passion through his voice alone, which can often times be quite challenging.\u00a0 His leadership style has had a profound impact on both the culture of Cavi and how it operates as a company.<\/p>\n
The rules and regulations at Cavi are quite flexible, with everyone working for Cavi be given a tremendous amount of autonomy.\u00a0 Sam Chin leads by example to show how you can work on what you love to do and therefore, he allows us to choose work we have interest in doing.\u00a0 While I initially thought it may be difficult to motivate workers that are spread out around the country and don’t meet face to face very often, I was certainly wrong about this.\u00a0 Through the use of technology that’s available to all of us today, ranging from business messaging apps like slack to video call platforms, Sam inspires the workers at the company to love what they do and hopefully do their best quality work because of it.<\/p>\n
