A large portion of my work has consisted of preparing for the SQF (Safe Quality Food) audit on June 20th. The Safe Quality Food audit will check to see whether or not the The Lebermuth Company is in compliance with federal regulations related to food standards. The consequences are large: if The Lebermuth Company cannot reach the “gold standard” (90% or higher), then they will not be allowed to sell their goods.

To prepare for the SQF audit, The Lebermuth Company has purchased a software called TraceGainz. I have been tasked with uploading and organizing relevant documents into the TraceGainz software. This includes SDS, Kosher&Halal certificates, and hazard data. Finding these documents can often be difficult, because they are located in many different folders within the company’s intra-network. I guess that is the rationale behind implementing a system like TraceGainz: it standardizes a uniform place where everyone from regulatory to sales can find the documents they want.

One issue in particular that I have run into with the TraceGainz system has to do with acquiring various documentation. Each and every item that The Lebermuth Company purchases should come with a list of documents. I have found it very difficult finding all of these documents, given how many different folders they are located in.

At the end of my second week, I am still very satisfied with my personal contributions. I know that the work I am doing will help the company pass its SQF audit with flying colors. This end goal is something that helps motivate me in the face of an enervating task like data input.

My second week at The Lebermuth Company has been quite eventful.
