{"id":2584,"date":"2013-03-05T16:52:25","date_gmt":"2013-03-05T20:52:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/james\/?p=2584"},"modified":"2013-03-08T12:39:17","modified_gmt":"2013-03-08T16:39:17","slug":"reflection-2-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/james\/2013\/03\/05\/reflection-2-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Reflection #2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My reflection spot was much desired today after this week&#8217;s particularly hectic Monday and Tuesday. \u00a0I&#8217;m not even going to go there. \u00a0Stress. \u00a0We all have it. \u00a0Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>It warmed up a little bit this afternoon, pushing 50 degrees, which was nice. \u00a0I&#8217;m not shivering uncontrollably which is a very new feeling. \u00a0I can somewhat relax and be outside without a parka. \u00a0The Canada geese are even swimming around the lake rather energetically. \u00a0In general, the birds are less angry. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Too bad they&#8217;re in for a rude awakening&#8230;SNOW? Really&#8230;..(Okay I won&#8217;t go there either.) \u00a0Virginia Weather. \u00a0lol I said it.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really excited for this week to be over. \u00a0Being home is just a very pleasant experience for me, especially when it feels like a reward. \u00a0At home, I reflect often. \u00a0We live on a big river, and I&#8217;m pretending that I&#8217;m there right now.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at the heron nests last Wednesday on the James reminded me of home. At my house, we have an osprey nest that has been inhabited for over 20 years. \u00a0It rests on a tall pylon sticking out of the shallow river water behind my house. \u00a0In the summer, there are usually one or two baby osprey in the nest. \u00a0People kayak by and the mother tries to kill them. \u00a0Other than that, watching the osprey swoop around with twigs, straw, and fish to feed their young is very serene.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really looking forward to Spring Break, and spring as a seasonal change. \u00a0This winter has been so long. \u00a0I may go into hibernation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My reflection spot was much desired today after this week&#8217;s particularly hectic Monday and Tuesday. \u00a0I&#8217;m not even going to go there. \u00a0Stress. \u00a0We all have it. \u00a0Yeah.
