As you remember, she left us with a mini-assignment: to think about how we might turn the enormous amount of information that exists on The Great Migration into a research project and paper.<\/p>\n<p>(Obviously, this will be a very useful exercise as you think about how you&#8217;re going to narrow and focus the projects you&#8217;ll be working on this summer &#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>After you&#8217;ve read the second half of the documents for Tuesday&#8217;s class (the link to the specifically assigned readings\/pages can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/humanitiesfellows\/readings-2019\/\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a> &#8212; scroll down to February 14th and 19th), please do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Think of a particular person, event, theme, or question that you might make an effective research topic.<\/li>\n<li>Write it up in a sentence or two.<\/li>\n<li>Using the <a href=\"https:\/\/search.proquest.com\/advanced?accountid=14731\"><strong>Historical Newspapers<\/strong><\/a> database and the archive of <a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=-EIEAAAAMBAJ&amp;lr=&amp;hl=en\"><strong>The Crisis<\/strong><\/a>, find one or two sources that you might use in.
