The first is called, <a title=\"Do Heroes Make us Smarter?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/blog\/why-we-need-heroes\/201404\/do-heroes-make-us-smarter\" target=\"_blank\">Do Heroes Make Us Smarter?<\/a> In this essay, we describe how heroes are our greatest teachers. Heroes model virtue, clarify complex and paradoxical life truths, equip us with emotional intelligence, and reveal how their journey can be <em>our<\/em> journey, too.<\/p>\n<p>Our second post is called, <a title=\"5 Surprising Ways\" href=\"http:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/blog\/why-we-need-heroes\/201404\/5-surprising-ways-heroes-improve-our-lives\" target=\"_blank\">5 Surprising Ways That Heroes Improve Our Lives.<\/a> In this article, we discuss five non-obvious benefits of heroic action. Heroes elevate us emotionally; they heal our psychological ills; they build connections between people; they encourage us to transform ourselves for the better; and they call us to become heroes and help others.<\/p>\n<p>Our third post at <em>Psychology Today<\/em> asks the question, <a title=\"Why few heroes?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/blog\/why-we-need-heroes\/201404\/why-are-there-so-few-heroes\" target=\"_blank\">Why Are There So Few Heroes?<\/a> Here we explore various reasons why heroes seem to be in short supply, but we conclude with the promising note that there may be many more heroes out there than you think.<\/p>\n<p>Although we\u2019ll be contributing to <em>Psychology Today<\/em>, we\u2019ll still be posting hero profiles and analyses regularly at this blog and at our <a title=\"Reel Heroes\" href=\"http:\/\/reelheroes.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reel Heroes movie blog<\/a>.
