{"id":260,"date":"2017-10-23T23:35:07","date_gmt":"2017-10-24T03:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/healthpsych\/?p=260"},"modified":"2018-01-12T14:21:11","modified_gmt":"2018-01-12T19:21:11","slug":"chapter-8-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/healthpsych\/2017\/10\/23\/chapter-8-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Chapter 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Keys, a very active man, lived a very long and interesting life. \u00a0He worked in a variety of fields, including public health, which is what I am interested in. \u00a0Dr. Keys is the person most responsible for the idea that a high-fat diet leads to high-cholesterol and heart disease, and then later went on to recommend the Mediterranean diet.<\/p>\n<p>As Neil Armstrong put it, &#8220;I believe that the Good Lord gave us a finite number of heartbeats and I&#8217;m damned if I&#8217;m going to use mine running up and down the street.&#8221; I can definitely relate to his statement at times!
