The map reveals areas of political tension, including the site of a recent violent protest and the headquarters of a Uyghur separatist group abroad. Geographic points are provided to represent the Great Western Development Program\u2019s environmental externalities. To provide a more complete picture, another point is provided to represent a major benefit of the development program: enhanced public transportation.
