Strengths

Weaknesses

  • Often lack communication between Israeli and Palestinian community because of Border issues
  • Travel restrictions from one country to the other
  • Drift from water issues to other environmental problems

Opportunities

  • Build trust between the cross-border communities as the basis for Israeli-Palestinian conflict resolution and peace building
  • Strong connection between Israeli and Palestinian youth because of joint ecological building workshops
  • Strong voice against environmental hazards as a result of their awareness program

  • Security concerns of Israeli workers in Palestine
  • Opposition party against co-operation

  • Using advanced technology (remote sensing analysis, satellite imaging) when mapping damages

Weaknesses:

  • Inability to oversee the complete distribution of funds
  • Inability to access certain areas because of the Israeli occupation
  • UN personnel is limited because of numerous threats

Opportunities:

  • Ability to coordinate international efforts with regional ones
  • Address water issues in conjunction with peace-building efforts
  • Serve as a buffer between contesting interests in the region

Threats:

  • Alienation and/or miscommunication when working with Palestinian citizens
  • Green/western “imperialism”

Strengths:

  • Provides a detailed damaged assessment to help identify the  damages and the resources needed to approach the situation
  • Prompt actions dealing with water issues

Weaknesses:

  • A semi-public institution, so sometimes lack the funding
  • Weak implementation because of the political condition
  • Ignores other environmental problems

Opportunities

  • Increases co-operation with different domestic and International group such as World Bank, UNRWA, ACF, PWA, UNICEF and OXFAM
  • Provides services to countries without bias
  • Long term goals keeps the program running

Threats

  • Maintaining the cooperation between different organizations
  • Ensuring the safety of their projects
  • Limited resources might lead to the abandonment of the program
