Quinoa: An Ancient ‘Grain’ in a Contemporary Context

In recent decades, the world has witnessed a quinoa explosion. In this Story Map, I aim to show how quinoa has emerged as a global commodity. I will trace its path from small farms in Bolivia before examining its expansion to Western consumers. I will also analyze how the growing popularity of the pseudo-cereal among international consumers and producers affects Andean growers.
