Throughout the research process, I found myself revising my research question through broadening and then narrowing my focal points. I needed to adjust my scope. Some questions I found myself asking were…<\/p>\n

“What drew these men and women to such a stringent community?”<\/p>\n

“Did the founding members have a certain personality which encouraged them to find Oneida enticing?”<\/p>\n

“How do the children feel about the life they were born into?”<\/p>\n

“What aspects of the community contributed to its downfall? Did this ‘particular personality type’ have a role in the matter?”<\/p>\n
