Knouse<\/strong>\u00a0Associate Professor of Psychology, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and Faculty Director of the Richmond Scholars Program and\u00a0<strong>Gill Robinson Hickman<\/strong>, Professor Emerita, Jepson School of Leadership Studies, \u201c<strong>Leadership During Personal Crisis: Research and Implications for Practice<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scholarly Writing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Securing focused and effective time for scholarly writing projects has been particularly difficult during the pandemic.\u00a0While the challenge is ongoing, we can provide support to move forward when you are ready.\u00a0Here are some opportunities to consider.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Write on Site.\u00a0<\/strong>Some writers find it helpful to work independently while also in community with others. Consider our weekly \u201c<strong>Write on Site<\/strong>\u201d hours on Tuesdays from 1-4 p.m. and on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30-11:30 a.m.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/richmond.box.com\/s\/myzfv62gioinfv1wdebdx3hsh7f7azb4\">More information is available here.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Building a publishing pipeline<\/strong>.\u00a0Teacher-scholars at all career stages know\u00a0the challenge of\u00a0bringing\u00a0scholarly work to completion. If you want to consider new\u00a0ways to plan and complete\u00a0multiple\u00a0publishing goals,\u00a0please\u00a0join\u00a0an\u00a0NCFDD\u00a04-week course on building\u00a0your\u00a0publishing pipeline\u00a0beginning\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>Wednesday, September 8, from 2-3 pm.\u00a0<\/strong>Login to your university-sponsored\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facultydiversity.org\/\">NCFDD <\/a>account and go to the Events Calendar to register.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Writing Groups<\/strong>. Let the Faculty Hub host your writing group- an opportunity for peer support plus dedicated time for writing. UR faculty who\u00a0have\u00a0participated in the past have reported benefits in establishing a writing routine. This is an opportunity for small groups of\u00a0faculty\u00a0from different disciplines to engage in mutual, non-evaluative peer observation. UR faculty who\u00a0have\u00a0participated in this program have reported benefits to their own teaching and to joining a small community of colleagues who support each other. Instructors at all levels of experience can benefit and are invited to join. Contact\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:egruner@richmond.edu?subject=Teaching%20Squares\">Dr. Libby Gruner<\/a>\u00a0by September 10 for more information or to sign up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sharing of faculty development programming at other institutions<\/strong>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/citls.lafayette.edu\/\">The Center for the Integration of Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship<\/a>\u00a0at Lafayette College has extended an invitation to us to register and virtually attend any of\u00a0their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/citls.lafayette.edu\/fall-events-flyers-2021-22-distinguished-teaching-fellows\/\">faculty fellows sessions<\/a>\u202fin store for this fall. One series will focus on using creative dramatics in college classrooms across the curriculum and the other on building\u202fmore inclusive\u202fclassrooms.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/richmond.box.com\/s\/4y43w0oi60cxxiyw1fptjlu4jkox7bj0\">Detailed information is available here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/facultyhub.richmond.edu\/services\/facilitated-course-assessment.html\"><strong>Facilitated Course Assessment<\/strong><\/a>.
