Republican Leader Radgono on Wu-Tang Clan\" width=\"474\" height=\"356\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5lUMc7we5ks?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Illinois Senate Republican leader Christine Radgono reads a letter from Raekwon out loud in the Illinois state house. \u00a0The way she so fluently pronounces <em>Raekwon<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Wu Tang Clan <\/em>tells me that Senator Radgono is a lifetime hip hop fan.<\/p>\n<p>Have to applaud her sense of humor. \u00a0It&#8217;s actually interesting to me that some Republicans on the national stage have attempted to create the impression that they embrace rap, too. \u00a0I&#8217;m thinking specifically of that <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cgGVondYzfo\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">creepy Eric Cantor interview<\/span><\/a><\/span> on <em>60 Minutes<\/em>\u00a0in which his kids reveal that their dad is super-cool and listens to rap. \u00a0Cantor himself, equally fluent in hip hop speak, said &#8220;I do the Wiz Khalifa stuff and Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne.&#8221; \u00a0The image of Cantor bobbing his head to Lil Wayne is both funny and disturbing since Lil Wayne is one of the grossest, raunchiest rappers out there. \u00a0Wrap your head around Cantor listening to &#8220;<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=L0Gzd68ZG3I\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Gonorrhea<\/span><\/a><\/span>,&#8221; for example.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to Rene Bryce-Laporte for the heads up on the Wu Tang letter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Illinois Senate Republican leader Christine Radgono reads a letter from Raekwon out loud in the Illinois state house. \u00a0The way she so fluently pronounces Raekwon\u00a0and Wu Tang Clan tells me that Senator Radgono is a lifetime hip hop fan.
