Tour\u00e9 has an excellent piece<\/span><\/a><\/span> in Time<\/em>\u00a0about the life of a contemporary musician. \u00a0Using Whitney Houston’s death as his point of departure, he looks at how the physical demands of fame are taking their toll on performers. \u00a0Rick Ross and Questlove are his central examples, but their grueling routines (and the health consequences) are becoming the norm for artists throughout the music industry. \u00a0As Questlove puts it, “I\u2019m not worried about bullets, I\u2019m worried about strokes. Strokes are the new bullets.”<\/p>\n
