Imagine my surprise when last week at the Youth Media Awards the American Library Association named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Sweet-Justice-Georgia-Gilmore-Montgomery\/dp\/1524720658\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sweet Justice: Georgia Gilmore and the Montgomery Bus Boycott<\/a> a Sibert Honor Book. The Sibert Award recognizes authors and illustrators of distinguished informational books.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-948 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/elemsocialstudies\/files\/2023\/02\/9781524720643-246x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"246\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/elemsocialstudies\/files\/2023\/02\/9781524720643-246x300.jpg 246w, https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/elemsocialstudies\/files\/2023\/02\/9781524720643.jpg 299w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 246px) 100vw, 246px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For all the time I&#8217;ve spent learning about Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott, Georgia Gilmore&#8217;s was not a name I&#8217;d heard, so I knew I needed to do some reading to find out exactly who she was. I&#8217;m fascinated by what I&#8217;ve learned, and I know you will be too.
