I really enjoyed using the QFT in class.\u00a0 Again, it was interesting to see how we all started out with different questions but narrowed them down to similar main questions.\u00a0 I can see how this technique would be intimidating for teachers because of the uncertainty of the end questions and not necessarily knowing the direction of the lessons.\u00a0 But, I feel like students would understand what questions might be the most important ones to answer.\u00a0 If there is a question that I, as a teacher, I did not think of I don’t see why it can’t be a learning experience for everyone.\u00a0 I think it’s okay to show students that the teacher does not know everything and has to learn just like them.\u00a0 It would also give students increased confidence to say that they do not know either.<\/p>\n
I did not have a clue what massive resistance meant when we started.\u00a0 This is definitely an excellent activity to get students engaged in social studies because it involves kids their age and schools located in the area.\u00a0 It would easier for the students to connect with, as opposed to something that happened to adults in Alabama.\u00a0 When teaching about the massive resistance would it fall under Virginia Studies or would it be a part the information learned about the Civil Rights Movement?\u00a0 Would other states teach about the massive resistance?\u00a0 Or, is it only something that Virginia students learn because it happened here?<\/p>\n
