Each assignment (e.g., workshops, quizzes, notebooks) must be completed individually.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Project 2 will introduce you to several basic concepts related to performing chemical reactions in the organic chemistry lab. The Reaction Preparation Workshop will help you prepare your lab notebook by refreshing your skills in stoichiometry and introducing you to certain skills critical to the experiment. Two other workshops (Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry) will familiarize you with additional techniques used to analyze the purity and identity of a sample \u2013 in this case, the reaction product.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that whenever a chemist performs a chemical reaction, there are at least three measures of success to consider:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">1. What is the identity (i.e., structure) of the product(s)?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">2. What is the quantity of product generated (by mass and percent yield)?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">3.
