The Client Counseling and Negotiation Board (CCNB) is a student-run organization that promotes the skills of negotiation as well as client interviewing and counseling. Each year CCNB offers Richmond Law students intra-school opportunities to achieve board membership. Following the intra-school competitions, between two and three teams of board members are selected to compete in the ABA Regional Negotiation and Client Counseling competitions in addition to the National Merhige Environmental Negotiation Competition. Since CCNB’s inception, board members have enjoyed success in ABA regional competitions, with several teams advancing to the national level.
CCNB is the proud host of the Robert R. Merhige Jr. National Environmental Negotiation Competition each spring. Drawing law students from all over the country, the two-day competition involves intense negotiations, primarily addressing current issues in environmental law.
