These courses have IDs that begin with\u00a0<strong>201220_<\/strong>.\u00a0 So if you are an instructor using Blackboard and haven&#8217;t gotten around to archiving your courses and you want to keep a record of your students&#8217; grades and discussion board interactions, now is the time to archive your course, download your Grade Center as an Excel file, and\/or collect your discussion board discussions.Other than student interactions and grades, all materials will remain in your course until you request its removal or three years has passed (whichever comes first). To download your grades, in\u00a0<strong>Grade Center<\/strong>\u00a0go to <strong>Workoffline<\/strong> &gt;\u00a0<strong>Download\u00a0<\/strong>and save the full Grade Center. On the next screen, be sure to hit\u00a0<strong>Download<\/strong>\u00a0instead of<strong>\u00a0OK<\/strong>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/files\/2012\/06\/Screen-Shot-2012-06-27-at-10.31.56-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"GC Work offline\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/files\/2012\/06\/Screen-Shot-2012-06-27-at-10.31.56-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"628\" height=\"106\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you would like to keep an archive of the course, follow these instructions:<\/p>\n<p>1. Go to your course&#8217;s Control Panel and select &#8220;Packages and Utilities&#8221; and then &#8220;Export\/Archive Course&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/files\/2012\/06\/Export_Archive.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Export_Archive\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/files\/2012\/06\/Export_Archive.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"182\" height=\"407\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Click the &#8220;Archive&#8221; button, select options, and hit &#8220;Submit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/files\/2012\/06\/Archive.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Archive\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/files\/2012\/06\/Archive.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"386\" height=\"166\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3. After you&#8217;ve received your confirmation e-mail that the course has been archived (usually within 10-20 minutes), go back to &#8220;Export\/Archive Course&#8221; in your Control Panel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/files\/2012\/06\/File.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"File\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/files\/2012\/06\/File.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"626\" height=\"219\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>4. Left-click the archived .zip file and save it to your desktop.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An archive .zip file contains the course content in a format that is not directly readable.\u00a0 However, if you&#8217;d like to view the contents of your archived course, download bFree, a free Blackboard course extractor created by the University of North Carolina: <a href=\"http:\/\/its2.unc.edu\/tl\/tli\/bFree\/\">http:\/\/its2.unc.edu\/tl\/tli\/bFree\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to archive discussion board postings, go to your course&#8217;s Discussion Board and select all posts you would like to keep. Select &#8220;Collect&#8221; and then &#8220;Print Preview&#8221;.
