{"id":102,"date":"2010-11-30T10:18:24","date_gmt":"2010-11-30T15:18:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/2010\/11\/30\/blackboard-outage-tuesday-10am\/"},"modified":"2010-11-30T10:33:53","modified_gmt":"2010-11-30T15:33:53","slug":"blackboard-outage-tuesday-10am","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/blackboard\/2010\/11\/30\/blackboard-outage-tuesday-10am\/","title":{"rendered":"Blackboard Outage &#8211; Tuesday 10AM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was an unplanned Blackboard outage for about 15 minutes beginning just before 10AM today.\u00a0 The system is back up, and Information Services is monitoring and studying the system and the event.\u00a0 If you have any unique observations or concerns or questions, please contact blackboard@richmond.edu .<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your patience.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: The outage was cause by a hardware failure.\u00a0 Information Services engaged redundant equipment to bring the server back up.\u00a0 A planned outage in the near future will be required to replace the affected equipment and return the system to the regular level of system redundancy.\u00a0 Although it will be scheduled to minimize impact, we realize there is no perfect time this close to the end of the semester.
