Hello Spiders!
This is another important reminder. PLEASE READ
1. Registration is coming up VERY soon. Most students will register July 28; student-athletes already register July 25! So go to bannerweb and look up your classes for the fall semester. When doing this, be sure to check that the courses you are looking at still have open spots! Otherwise you won’t be able to get in.
2. Just register for 4 units! That is more than enough for your first semester! Don’t rush yourself and get yourself into trouble. Take your time, espcially in the first year. That will make your life a lot easier!
3. Do not forget to register yourself for Core. If you do not register yourself for Core, the university will register you eventually and that may not be good for your schedule, so please do not forget this.
4. You also need to sign up for 2 more requirements this fall. Lib 101 and Wellness 085. These classes just meet one day and cover library policies and drinking issues. ALL students need to take these courses to graduate and they should be taken first semester freshman year. So please sign up for a section of both courses!
Okay guys, I hope registration will run nice and smoothe for all of you. Be in touch please!!
Please check your spidermail account!
Important e-mails from the Registrars’ Office and other UR programs will be sent only to your Richmond account. Please make sure you keep checking your UR e-mail.
And of course REGISTER for your spidermail account if you have not done so yet!
Stay tuned… soon we will talking about our wonderful summers on this blog… be ready
Over the summer you will have to fill out many important documents in order to assure a smoothe transition to Richmond. It is also important to have them completed on time since Richmond is so big and cannot chase everyone down individually.
ALL STUDENTS: June 1 is coming up in 1 week and there is another document you have to fill out. The Family Data Form is not a long form and should not take too long to fill out, but provides Richmond with some important information about you and your family. If you have not completed this form, please go ahead and do so over the weekend or during the course of next week.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY: The international link includes one form that is not due until August 1 (so you still have lots of time to fill it out), but as you prepare your trip and arrival to Richmond, this is a very helpful site and you should take a look at it.
TRANSFER STUDENTS ONLY: The transfer link provides students who are transferring from another university or college with some helpful links and information.
The deadline for the Housing Application was May 15th. If you have not completed and sent it to the housing office please do so IMMEDIATELY. This is very important.
I hope your summers are going well and for those of you finishing high school these days, good luck and enjoy the time!
New Spiders,
Please feel free to comment on my posts to share ideas, concerns, or suggestions. It would be a great way to share information with everyone, ask questions, and get to know each other a little. Don’t be shy, Richmond is a wonderful and supportive community!
Sooo exciting, isn’t it? Congratulations for getting into Richmond and for making the smart choice to go to this wonderful university. I want to welcome all of you and let you know that I am looking forward to be in contact with you over the summer and to meet you in the fall semester. I will be in Germany all summer because I have an internship at m2p, a consulting business for the aviation industry here in Frankfurt, and I got funding for beginning my research for my senior honors thesis in the Jepson School (leadership)- the topic is illegal animal trafficking in South America. But feel free to email me any time and if you want to talk on the phone we can even arrange a time to do that :-). I am at your service so to speak.
Please take the time to browse this site because it will help you with all of the things you have to plan and prepare for your arrival in August. I will also guide you through the process. So don’t worry, relax, and enjoy your summer!! And keep looking for posts!!
Also, Remember to use the NEW SPIDERS website as a resource for information!! It is important for you and very useful.
