What a lovely review of what sounds like an important book for any classroom. This would be a good book in conjunction with a field trip to the Civil Rights Monument at Capitol Square in Richmond, VA. The monument tells the story of the role of students (from Prince Edward County) in ending Massive Resistance in Virginia. The right book can enhance a field trip-- before, during, and after. This book sounds like a perfect example. On to Amazon.com :).
