A Soul to the Universe

The use of the electric guitar in the 1980s in America had an immense impact on the sound and amplification of heavy metal rock songs through the different timbres used and the fast tempo that guitarists with it created. The electric guitars unique and intense electrifying sound that artists used to enhance their style allowed this instrument to continue to flourish at a high rate. The songs “Welcome to the Jungle,” by Guns N’ Roses, and “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC, further exemplify how the Gibson Les Paul and Gibson SG electric guitars were able to produce a unique sound through the different electric guitar effects, techniques such as distortion, hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides and bends as well as palm muting.
