Eco-Spider Challenge Essay
Hi! My name is Wally the Water Wader and I represent the Women’s Water Polo Team! I’m here to tell you about preventing water pollution and the importance of water conservation in daily life.
In my underbelly, there is a laundry detergent bottle. While it is doing a great job of holding my legs up and cleaning your clothes, it is polluting our water with its chemicals! Using detergents creates waste-water with its phosphates, which hurts our environment! Please make sure to buy environmentally friendly detergents so that we water spiders can keep swimming!
As you can see, my legs are made from water bottles. While I enjoy having my legs, it would be much more environmentally friendly to buy a single reusable water bottle, instead of the 18 it took to build me! Let’s decrease our plastic waste and conserve water at the same time!
My body, a wheelbarrow that has been reincarnated into a water polo ball, would hold the amount of water it takes to flush three toilets. A great way to decrease water use is to invest in a half-flush toilet, which would flush twice as many times using the same amount of water!
It’s been great telling you all of this! I hope you have a fantastic, eco-friendly day! Let’s all work to save water… EVERY DROP COUNTS!
