I give Patrick's Podcast on responsibility accounting three out of four stars. He presented the material in a manner that made it simple to follow and understand. The descriptions of ROI, residual income, and EVA where accompanied nicely by examples that strengthened his explanation of the subjects. A slight drawback however is that the podcast tended to stay fixed on single slide for and extended period of time. Slides were also at times slightly fuzzy making them harder to read. The material covered was presented in a logical order making it easy to progress from one topic to the next. Patrick's rate of speech was at a comfortable pace throughout however he had an occasional tendency to pick up pace and speak faster. The podcast was of overall high quality, the material was informative and easy to understand.

3 STARS!

Pat Shanley’s Podcast on Responsibility Accounting was educational and professional-looking. His title page and transitions between pictures were done well. He also presented the material in a logical and consistent manner. I appreciated the examples of the types of responsibility centers, but I feel like Mr. Shanley took the generic examples straight from the textbook. The Podcast might have been a little more interesting if he had selected a specific company and given examples of the various cost centers within that company. Overall, the production of the Podcast was high quality. The volume of the audio was even, and Mr. Shanley’s pace and tone were pleasant to listen to. My only criticism of the Podcast’s visuals is that some of the text was too small to read on the screen. Finally, the actual presentation of the Responsibility Accounting material was easy to understand because Mr. Shanley described advantages and disadvantages of each evaluation method and provided concrete examples of each.
