Mr. Welsh’s podcast on the overhaul of FASB was interesting and the topic was well-chosen in my opinion. Mr. Welsh speaks very clearly at a comfortable pace with good inflection. I think he has good pictures that appropriately go along with what he is saying and maintain the listener’s interest (I especially liked the mongoose bit). It can be very difficult to find general images (like people in a group) and have them be exactly what you’re looking for, but it caught my attention that both times he put up pictures of people in a group the number of individuals did not correspond to what he was saying in the audio so perhaps he should have looked a little harder to find those examples. Of course everyone needs to script their podcasts, but Mr. Welsh should work on making his speech more natural and less obvious that he is reading. Overall, I thought his podcast was very well done and he obviously put a lot of effort into it. I appreciate that it was organized and well thought-out.

Sean Welsh's Podcast on the FASB restructuring was very informative and pleasant to listen to. I especially liked the way Mr. Welsh organized his Podcast. The movement from the origins of FASB to the proposed changes to the reactions to the overhaul was logical and easy to follow. The introductory music was a nice addition to the Podcast, and the audio recording was nearly seamless. Although Mr. Welsh’s pacing was appropriate, I would have enjoyed his Podcast even more if his tone had been more conversational and less affected. He had clearly planned his speaking part and structured it well, but the Podcast would have benefited from a more enthusiastic reading. The Podcast might have also been improved by the inclusion of more pictures or title shots. Mr. Welsh’s pictures concerning the makeup of the FASB were amusing, but they did not suit the text. For example, when speaking of the new five-member FASB, a picture of three individuals was on the screen. I did, however, enjoy the picture and reference to the mongoose. The analogy to FASB was funny and also relevant. Overall, Mr. Welsh’s Podcast was well-made and informative.
