Bankrupt Airliners

by William Wirthman

With the economy struggling, one industry that has greatly suffered is the airline industry. This podcast discusses the potential fallout from the bankruptcy of three low cost airliners. Though the news is still very recent and time will tell what directions this industry must take to survive, it is not too early to try an identify the cost factors and economic situation which caused thousands to lose their jobs and stranded thousands more passengers.

Will Wirthman does a great job of putting a personal spin on a pervasive national issue. He also shows a stong command of the technology by seamlessly weaving great images and relevant songs into his narrative to highlight the course topics and issues discussed. The Podcast has an engaging intro, stong supporting media to an excellent narrative and is just long enough to cover the topic well without becoming boring. Will obviously spent a lot of time creating this Podcast and his hard work shows throughout. This Podcast is well-deserving of four stars.

Mr. Wirthman’s podcast on bankrupt airlines is very appropriate for today’s events. Mr. Wirthman presents his information in a slow calm tone that is very easy to listen to. It is also very evident that Mr. Wirthman spent a lot of time putting in the variety of pictures as well as the accompanying songs. Mr. Wirthman does an excellent job explaining the accounting issues involved in the decline of airlines. The only thing that I would have done different would be to have discussed why certain other airlines are staying afloat, and compare them to the three failing low cost airlines. Otherwise, Mr. Wirthman did a great job on his entertaining podcast.
