Cara Smaniotto’s Podcast on Capital Investment Decision-Making had some small issues that detracted from the viewing experience, but overall the Podcast was very informative and well-designed. Some of the images used needed to be resized to fit the Podcast screen, as they were blurred or had letters cut off the screen. The Podcast also could have benefited from a more viewer-friendly approach; it did not engage the listener or capture the viewer’s attention. Introductory music and a change in voice modulation throughout the Podcast would have achieved this effect. The quality of the content provided, however, was superb. The Podcast was thorough, direct, and clearly outlined, making it easy to follow and learn from. It would serve as an excellent reference for Accounting 305 students wishing to review Capital Investment Decision-Making.

3 and half stars,
Cara Smaniotto’s podcast, “Capital Investment Decision-Making,” was very good. It was informative and would serve as a great reference for the final exam. The pictures could have been reformatted to fit the screen but I think that was a problem for most people. Ms. Smaniotto’s information was very cogent and well-organized. The pictures were extremely creative and very pertitent to her topic. Unlike the previous viewer, I thought the podcast captured my attention and was viewer-friendly. Especially, the parts that had the blackboard with white chalk pictures with the formulae while talking about the specific areas of capital investment decision making such as payback, IRR, and NPV. All in all, great work!
