by Sarah Beth Dunaway
In today’s business world, there is a strong demand for more Certified Public Accountants (CPA’s). The process of obtaining CPA licensure is difficult and time consuming, but in the benefits far outweigh the costs. This podcast takes an in depth look in to the CPA exam, its history, what it means, why it is important and how to take it.

Sarah Beth’s presentation was very well done overall. She is very well spoken and knew the information well. She did a good jib informing the listener as to all the benefits of earning your CPA certification as well as what the requirements are in obtaining the title depending on what state one wishes to practice in. The explanation of the CPA exam is extremely helpful for those who wish to one day become a CPA. This allows an individual the chance to quickly learn what they should expect when entering the exam.
I would suggest that she add a little music to spice things up a bit as well as add some more exciting photos to help keep the listeners attention a littler better. The chart toward the end needs some better editing as it is impossible to read.

Sorry, but I give the Pod Cast a 4 star rating overall. Very well done but could use a little extra to keep the listener interested.

Sarah Beth’s podcast on the CPA exam was very informative and provided useful knowledge on the benefits of becoming a certified public accountant. She gave quality insights as to why someone should strongly consider acquiring their CPA, such as higher pay and greater opportunities in the field. She explained the different state rules relating to the exam, and also gave a brief overview of each section on the CPA exam. She also gave information on when the exam is provided, and what a passing score is. Lastly, I think it was beneficial to note the different CPA review services that we may be interested in, as soon-to-be CPA “examers”. In regards to presentation, I feel it was nicely laid out. She spoke clearly and at a good pace for the listener to understand. While Sarah Beth uses pictures in her podcast, I would have enjoyed more variation in them to keep the viewer locked in visually. I became bored of looking at the same picture for too long, but this is just nitpicking. I also think a little background music would have worked well with this type of podcast, since there were no numbers involved and it was more conversational in nature than, say, a training podcast might be. However, on the whole I really enjoyed the useful information provided by Sarah Beth on the CPA exam. Well done.
